We enjoy carving high quality life-size gunning decoys for the discriminating collector. They are usually sold in pairs, but individual decoys are available.

Jim has a secret base-painting technique that gives these decoys a special soft looking finish. The heads are wood burned but the bodies are done in a more traditional style. The painting is accurate and detailed.

The decoys are available with or without Jim’s specially designed keel weighted to self-right the decoy if it was used for hunting (heaven forbid!).

Most common North American waterfowl can be made except geese and loons.
